Snowflake returns!
Each year, we have a very special friend who visits our speech room. He is our own Elf on the Shelf, which we named Snowflake. He usually shows up right after Thanksgiving break. Snowflake loves to do silly things in our room. Each day we find him hiding in a new place, watching to be sure the students are being good. He then reports to Santa each night. There is one very important rule about our elf, Snowflake: he cannot be touched or he might lose his magic! The students take this very seriously.
Here are a few places we found Snowflake this year:
The students LOVE to look for Snowflake each time they come to speech. This has been a great way to incorporate our speech and language skills into something fun. Some students have even made their own books: drawing a picture of where they found Snowflake and writing a sentence describing where he was. Others have used our Expanding Expression Tool (EET or EETCHY to the students) to describe Snowflake.
Ask your child if they saw Snowflake this year. Where was he hiding? Was he being silly? Can they describe him to you?
I hope you have a very Merry Christmas! See you next year!
